Coordinating decisions at multiple stages in Supply Chains; Design and Control of Cellular Manufacturing Systems; Developing Strategic and Tactical Models for Call Center Operations.
Information Systems & Operations Management
Professor Vakharia teaches in the areas of operations management, manufacturing planning and control, operations strategy, management of service operations, management science, transportation and logistics systems, integration of MPC/ERP systems, and international operations/logistics. His current research focuses on examining the production/distribution planning problem in supply chains, economic approaches for resolving conflicts between supply chain members, identifying market segments and product bundles using mathematical clustering models, and developing optimization approaches for client to call center assignments. Professor Vakharia was formerly on the faculty of the University of Arizona.
