Financial Aid Application Instructions
Apply for financial aid as soon after January 1 as possible, otherwise you may not be eligible for aid in the first year. A free application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form and Gator Aid Application Guide from the University of Florida Office for Student Financial Affairs (SFA) can be obtained from the SFA website or at any college or university financial aid office.

Qualified candidates should follow these steps to apply for financial aid:
  • Complete the Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online. FAFSA forms for the upcoming academic year are available beginning in January.
If you are using the paper FAFSA, complete the FAFSA and return it to the federal processor in the envelope provided. Make certain to list the University of Florida and the UF Federal school code (001535) in the school release section.

  • Request a Gator Aid Application Guide from the University of Florida Office for Student Financial Affairs or access it on-line.

  • Submit the financial aid materials at the same time as, or even before, applying for admission. Approximately two weeks after submitting the FAFSA, the application data will be sent electronically to the applicant and to the aid office.

  • Review the processed application information, correct any errors and return it to the federal processor as soon as possible. This information will be forwarded to the University of Florida. If admitted, the University of Florida will use the FAFSA information to determine eligibility for financial aid. A financial aid package will be awarded based on the candidate's demonstrated need.

  • Report any change of mailing address to both the Florida MBA Programs Office and the Office for Student Financial Affairs. Incorrect addresses will delay the processing of your financial aid award.

  • Check with a financial aid advisor immediately if any of the following occur to determine whether the circumstances will affect financial aid eligibility:
    divorce from a spouse
death of a major wage earner
loss of employment of a major wage earner
loss of other income or benefits (such as Social Security or child support)
award of additional financial assistance through private sources.
